  • Natural Family Planning (NFP)
    taught by Liz Musich

There are many methods of Natural Family Planning. All methods have same objective—to determine times of fertility and infertility in a woman’s cycle but different methods track different biomarkers to do so. I teach the Creighton Model FertilityCare System or Creighton for short. NFP is not just for couples though, any woman anywhere in her reproductive life can track her cycle and learn the language of her body.

One of the advantages of Creighton is that it has a medical component called NaProTechnology. Anything that comes up in charting that could indicate hormonal imbalances, ovulatory dysfunction, luteal phase defects and many others can be treated in a wholistic and restorative way through doctors trained in NaProTechnology.

I teach Creighton at Holy Family Catholic Clinic in West Linn.

  • Marriage
Marriage is a vocation: a call from God and a path to holiness. It is not a distraction from the spiritual life but the place where a spouse’s relationship with God takes shape.

  • To Get Started...

Contact Deacon Becker to begin preparing for marriage at Christ the King.

  • FAQs

How far in advance should I contact the parish?

Schedule an appointment with Deacon Becker 6-10 months before the wedding date. Why so long? See "What is marriage prep?"

    What is Marriage Prep?

Marriage prep is a course designed to help the engaged couple make the most of the marriage sacrament, to evaluate and deepen their readiness to live the married life and to gain insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple. (USCCB "Marriage Preparation")

This course is a requirement for those who wish to be married at Christ The King.

In addition, we require completion of a Natural Family Planning (NFP) course—See side bar.

What else do I need to know?

Either the bride or the groom must be a registered and practicing member of the parish.
