"You, little spark, no matter how small... I give you my brilliance... Even great saints were my small sparks... Some walk slowly and cautiously, other fly quickly..." - Words of Jesus from the spiritual diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann, OCDS
Our Mission
The Flame of Love Prayer Cenacle's mission is to cover our parish, clergy, and parishioners with spiritual protection, placing them all under the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are a weekly prayer group of the worldwide movement, devoted to the salvation of souls and the protection of families. We meet every Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the Children's Chapel of the Church.
We pray to be a light in the darkness, to implore protection for our priests, parishioners, families, the youth, the Church, and beseech the mercy of God for the salvation of souls.
History of the Flame of Love
Elizabeth Szanto Kindelmann was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1913. She was orphaned at a young age and widowed at 32, left with six children. While supporting her family with a variety of jobs at factories and foundries, she joined the lay Carmelite order. After experiencing three years of spiritual darkness, she began receiving religious experiences that introduced her to God's presence, which are detailed in her spiritual diary.
In these appearances, Jesus and Our Lady entrusted the Flame of Love devotion to Elizabeth, promising these five effects to those who pray it:
1. Blinding of Satan, making him powerless, and freeing those who feel his oppression
2. Salvation of souls
3. Strengthening of the family
4. Freeing of souls from Purgatory
5. Conversion of the world through the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
In 2013, Elizabeth's Diary was translated and published in the US, with the Imprimatur given by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia. Since then, Flame of Love prayer cenacles have formed all over the nation, prompting a richer spiritual life and unity in mission for all who participate.
