The Archdiocese of Portland is dedicated to safeguarding the most vulnerable individuals in parishes and schools through screenings and training for clergy, seminarians, employees and volunteers. 

Additionally, the Archdiocese has partnered with Virtus to offer safe environment education programs for parents, children and youth. All children participating in parish activities must attend a training unless their parents choose to opt-out of the training.
