1. What is Rooted in Truth?
Rooted in Truth is Christ the King Parish and School’s three-year capital campaign. It flows directly from our Pastoral Vision and our identity as a Eucharistic parish and an Institute for Catholic Liberal Education school.
This campaign invites every parishioner and school family to participate in strengthening divine worship and deepening Catholic formation for future generations.
2. Why is Christ the King undertaking this campaign now?
Divine worship is our first Pastoral Priority. Our church is the privileged place where Heaven and earth meet, where we encounter Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
At the same time, our parish school is our primary work of evangelization. The expansion to grades 9 through 12 allows us to form young men and women during the decisive high school years in an authentically Catholic worldview.
The planning study revealed strong support for both priorities. Now is the time to act with faith and unity.
3. What are the campaign priorities?
Rooted in Truth focuses on two mission-driven priorities:
Church Interior Beautification and Renewal
5. How is a capital campaign different from the offertory?
The Sunday offertory sustains our daily operations, ministries, clergy, staff, and school. A capital campaign supports one-time, mission-expanding projects. Campaign gifts are above and beyond regular offertory giving and are restricted solely to the projects presented.
Both are essential. The offertory sustains the present. The campaign strengthens the future.
6. How long will the campaign last?
Rooted in Truth is a three-year pledge campaign. Families are invited to prayerfully discern a total gift that can be fulfilled over three years.
This approach allows households to make a sacrificial gift that reflects gratitude for God’s blessings while enabling the parish to plan construction responsibly.
7. What did the planning study reveal?
The planning study included 273 participating families and demonstrated strong support for moving forward.
85% favored a capital campaign
82% indicated they would make a gift
Strong trust was expressed in parish leadership and the mission
The clearest priority that emerged was expanding the school to grade 12, alongside strong support for enhancing the beauty and functionality of the church.
8. Will the church renovation change the structure of the building?
No structural changes are planned. The project enhances the interior in a way that harmonizes with the church’s existing design while linking it more visibly to the Catholic architectural tradition.
The goal is to create a space that radiates beauty, fosters reverence, and draws souls more deeply into the Eucharistic mystery.
9. Will the school expansion compete with other Catholic high schools?
Christ the King’s expansion is rooted in our unique identity as a parish-based Catholic Liberal Education school.
Our goal is not competition but fidelity. We seek to provide families who desire a fully integrated Catholic formation, K through 12, the opportunity to continue that formation through graduation.
10. How can I participate?
Every parishioner and school family is invited to participate in three ways:
1. Pray: for unity, clarity, and generosity.
2. Discern: Ask the Lord what sacrificial gift He is inviting you to make over three years.
3. Engage: Volunteer, attend campaign events, and help share the vision.
Rooted in Truth is not simply about buildings. It is about strengthening Christ the King Parish and School for generations to come.
11. Who is leading the campaign?
The campaign is led by Monsignor Cihak, in collaboration with parish leadership and dedicated volunteers.
This is a parish-wide effort rooted in prayer, stewardship, and shared mission.
