1. What is Rooted in Truth?
Rooted in Truth is Christ the King Parish and School’s capital campaign to fund the beautification of our church and expand our parish school to a full K–12 model. It is a focused effort to invest in the future of our parish through clearly defined, mission-driven projects.
2. What is the fundraising goal of the campaign?
The campaign is working toward raising a total of $6.5 million. This includes funding for all planned projects as well as leveraging a $1 million gift that will be unlocked once $3 million in commitments are received.
3. How will the campaign funds be allocated?
75% of funds from the campaign will support church beautification and renewal, which reflects our commitment to divine worship.
25% of funds from the campaign will support the expansion of the parish school to grades 9–12, which reflects our commitment to Catholic formation.
4. What enhancements will be made to the church?
The church will be renewed in a way that draws more deeply from the richness of the Church’s architectural tradition, creating a space that feels both timeless and fitting to our parish. This renewal is intended to increase beauty, reverence, and functionality, helping the church more fully serve its highest purpose: divine worship. Through thoughtful design, sacred art, and practical improvements, the interior will better reflect the dignity of the liturgy and foster a deeper encounter with Christ.
5. What changes will be made to the narthex and sacristies?
The vesting sacristy will be relocated closer to the sanctuary, and the current space will be repurposed for choir vesting and a calming room. The narthex will be redefined with new doors and glass enclosures, along with updated restrooms to better serve parishioners.
6. Will the church structure be changed?
No overall structural changes are planned. The project is considered a cosmetic interior renovation that works within the existing footprint while significantly improving the sacred environment.
7. What does the school expansion include?
The campaign will provide start-up funding to launch grades 9–12 at Christ the King Parish School. This includes hiring faculty, developing curriculum, and equipping classrooms with the necessary furniture and materials for high school instruction.
8. Why is the parish expanding to K–12?
The high school years are critical in forming young people in their faith and worldview. Expanding to K–12 allows students to remain within a fully integrated Catholic Liberal Education during these formative years.
9. What is the Chiossi Trust gift?
The Chiossi Trust is a longstanding fund of Christ the King Parish, established to support the parish buildings and especially the church. The Chiossi Trust Board has committed a $1 million gift that will be released once $3 million in pledges are secured, providing significant momentum as the campaign progresses.
10. How is this different from the Sunday offertory?
The Sunday offertory supports the ongoing operations of the parish and school. The capital campaign funds these one-time construction and expansion projects and is separate from regular giving.
